Bryan's Bio...
Bryan S. Farcus MA, CJF For more than 30 years, Bryan has been combining the skills of horseshoeing, teaching, and riding. He is a Certified Journeyman farrier through the Brotherhood of Working Farriers Association (BWFA) and also holds a certification in Equine Massage Therapy. Over the years, Bryan has been an instructor for several equine programs at various higher learning institutions. He was a director/instructor of a farrier program at Meredith Manor Equestrian Centre in Waverly, WV for 14 years. In addition, Bryan was an adjunct farrier instructor for Hocking College in Nelsonville, OH. for 6 years, and briefly served as a guest instructor for an Equine Science program at Salem International University in Salem, WV. More recently, Bryan has been working in conjunction with West Virginia University-Parkersbug consulting and instructing an Intoduction to Equine Care class addition to their Agribussiness program. Bryan's other accomplishments include both a Master of Arts degree with a specialization in equine education and also a Bachelor of Science degree in the area of business. Bryan has continued his education by working with some of the top professionals in the industry. He has had the honor of studying with Dr. Doug Butler--- world famous farrier educator...King A. Lamadora--- lameness expert & founder of "Proper Balance Movement" PBM II... Dr. Ronald Riegel--- leading researcher in the use of infrared thermography for diagnosing equine lameness... Kate Poulin--- accomplished dressage trainer and member of the 2007 Pan Am gold metal winning team… and has also been privileged to ride and study under “America’s most trusted horseman”--- John Lyons.
Bryan is also the creator of a select line of "Farrier-Friendly"™ products and currently authors a series of "Farrier-Friendly"™articles that appear in horse magazines and websites throughout the US, Canada, UK, and Australia. Bryan is committed to furthering the advancement of equine education and ,upon invitation, he offers Hoof Care demonstrations and Horsemanship clinics for horse owners. Bryan currently works with horses and their owners in Ohio, West Virginia and PA. When he is not on the road, he can be found enjoying the company of his family.
